A custom media wall sometimes called a media feature wall or just a feature wall, is a wall that is built to house your TV, other media devices (such as Sky boxes and speakers) and an electric fire. We’ve already mentioned that you get to hide all the wires from the appliance out of sight within the wall.
Another benefit is the space-saving potential. Yes, if you’re building a stud wall where there is currently nothing then it will take up more of your floor space. But if you want a fire and don’t currently have one, a media wall needn’t take up much more space than a TV stand but will tidily house the fireplace and a TV. And since electric fires and televisions tend to be slimline, there’s no reason for your new wall to have the depth of a traditional chimney breast.
